Cool Australia

Cool Australia is an organization that provides teachers with educational resources and activities that aim to make teaching resources and activities that aim to make teaching real world scenarios as easy as can be!

Cool Australia creates and designs educational activities and units of work that are available for download straight off their website and into your classroom. All learning activities are linked to the Australian Curriculum Standards as well as the outcomes of the Early Learning Framework. Cool Australia provides resources in an online digital library that contains not only research but videos, images, news articles and info-graphics as well! They also deliver online professional development by supplying online courses as well as webinars for educators.

Cool Australia partnered with Shark Island Productions for the Oasis unit. The OASIS documentary often depicted as a raw and confronting view of the youth of the Oasis Centre in Surry Hills. The film raises awareness of the issue of youth homeless, whilst also praising the resilience of many young individuals that are experiencing homelessness in our country. The rawness of this documentary inspires and empowers action to be taken to prevent future generations having to experience youth homelessness.

Cool Australia uses the Oasis unit to emphasize the key messages of the documentary, and lessons have been created where students search to define the issues, research and investigate the issues, and students are also given an amazing opportunity that allows them to apply their learning and skills in real world situations.
