Fundraise online

Right now, everyday life has turned into a struggle for thousands of Australians. Despite doing everything they can to cover the monthly rent, pay a power bill, or even afford basic groceries, countless families are facing an uphill battle like never before to stay afloat. Often, those in need feel they have to struggle alone.

That’s why your support matters this Red Shield Appeal, so nobody struggles alone. The generosity and care shown by supporters like you enables us to do what we do.

By signing up to Digital Doorknock and raising funds for the Salvos, you will enable us to provide vital support and services to vulnerable individuals and families across Australia all year round, and ensure no one struggles alone in the face of hardship or crisis.

How you can do a bucketload of good

Having fun while helping someone in great need has never been easier. Take a look at some of our top fundraising ideas to get you started. So gather some friends, or your local neighbourhood group support in your efforts, and get the ball rolling.

Walk, run, ride or hike

Are you keen to get moving and test your fitness? Pick a physical activity to challenge yourself, and get your friends to join you for some extra fun and healthy competition.

Host an event

Host a BBQ or a morning tea, trivia event or movie night – Choose your own event and invite family, friends, or those in your wider network, all for a good cause.

Sleep out

Why not plan a fun night in your backyard, at your church or school? Make sure you have the relevant permissions and plan a sleep out to raise much needed funds for people doing it tough.

Do something fun

Want to dye your hair red and run 100 kilometres to raise funds? Why not? If you have a unique way you want to challenge yourself and raise funds, now is the perfect time.

Your support goes a long way

Funds raised through the Red Shield Appeal go directly to helping Australians in need.

Salvos are active in local communities connecting with the most vulnerable and isolated and making a real difference in their lives. Because of you, we can continue to offer safety for women and children escaping family violence; provide emergency relief for people struggling to cope with everyday expenses; and give a warm meal and shelter to those experiencing homelessness. Each year, hundreds of thousands of lives are touched by your generosity and this year even more people are reaching out for help – many who have never needed it before. Thank you for continuing to make a difference in the lives of Australians doing it tough.
