Anti Poverty Week

Disaster doesn't discriminate, opportunity shouldn't either

Debt and money troubles can happen to anyone. A sudden job loss, unexpected health crisis or a natural disaster can strike at any time. You are not alone. Here at The Salvation Army, we recognise that disaster does not discriminate. We’ve seen people from all walks of life need help and support to get through their challenging time. Just last year we saw nearly 14,000 people going through similar challenges to your own.

What is Anti-Poverty Week?

Anti-Poverty Week (11-17 October) is a national campaign to raise awareness for the financial struggles thousands of Australians experience every day. The Salvation Army is committed to helping people who are facing poverty overcome their financial stress and find hope for the future.

We can get through this together

It’s not your fault if things are tough right now. Our Moneycare financial counselling and coaching service is here to help you. Just like disaster does not discriminate, we believe opportunity should not either. Help is available to you – whatever your story may be.

Do you need to:

  • Manage your debt?
  • Pay the bills?
  • Get your finances in order?
  • Get tips for budgeting?
  • Reduce your financial stress?

Our Salvation Army Doorways caseworkers can come alongside you to ease current hardships. And our Moneycare financial counsellors can help you build long-term financial strength. If you're looking to start managing your finances in a smart way, Moneycare has created short guide on how this. Download this free PDF guide below.
