Frequently asked questions

Here at the Salvos, we want to help anyone in need. If the thought of spending money at Christmas is causing you stress and you are unsure how you will afford gifts for your children, please contact us. We have financial counselling programs to help you with budgeting and can see if you are eligible for a Christmas food hamper or gift assistance.

Whenever possible, we want to give parents the dignity of choosing gifts for their own child among the donations. We do not wrap gifts for this reason. We also sometimes have gift vouchers so parents can experience the joy of shopping for their child.

We try to distribute our food hampers and gifts before Christmas, so families are ready to celebrate Christmas Day. The sooner you get in touch with us, the sooner we can help take the stress out of Christmas for you.

The Salvation Army Australia acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we meet and work and pay our respect to Elders past, present and future.

We value and include people of all cultures, languages, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions and intersex status. We are committed to providing programs that are fully inclusive. We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of people of all ages, particularly children.
