The Salvation Army and Redress and Civil Litigation

25 March 2015

The Salvation Army is actively contributing to the work of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. To date, The Salvation Army has proactively participated in and supports ongoing discussions around issues of redress schemes, redress and civil litigation.

The Salvation Army has made detailed submissions into these topics by:

  • Submitting consultation papers;
  • Organising and participating in private roundtable discussions with the Royal Commission and other key stakeholders; and
  • By appearing at public hearings.

No funds donated to The Salvation Army (for example through the Red Shield Appeal) are used as compensation for survivors of abuse.

The Salvation Army encourages anyone who was abused in any way to contact our Centre for Restoration directly by calling (02) 9266 9781 or via email at centreforrestoration@aue.salvationarmy.org.
